This deck on a home in Piedmont had been neglected by its owner and had a lot of deferred maintenance.
1. We removed the deck piece by piece and carefully hauled it off the site 2. We then removed any dry rot rafters and replaced them with new pressure-treated 2” x 12” boards 3. Called the City to inspect our work and after they had signed off on our work we began to construct the new deck 4. The new deck walkway is all-aluminum to insure there are no dry rot issues in the future 5. Also the railings and cross supports are also all metal and had to be anchored with special bolts for lateral strength. 6. The end result is a aesthetically pleasing and functional deck that will last for 50 years.
